Phd Thesis 1
After finishing my studies on Change Management, January this year, I thought it would be nice to return to science by working on a PhD Thesis.
In April I had an appointment with a professor and we made some plans. The first goal was to find a subject that suited me. But soon after this meeting the professor got ill and I was advised to look for another professor as principal supervisor.
At the end of September I had an appointment with professor Paul Jansen, an authority in Industrial psychology at the Free University of Amsterdam. He explained to me that I had to narrow my field and focus on a researchable subject. He thought that writing an article could be beneficial for me.
At this moment I narrowed my field to two subjects:
- Decision Support Systems (DSS)
- Human Performance Improvement (HPI).
Last Thursday I had an appointment with Piet Bakker, professor of Quality and Innovation at Academic Medical Center (AMC, the hospital of the University of Amsterdam), where I work as management consultant. He told me to focus on HPI as that was a subject AMC could benefit most from at the moment. He was willing to be associate supervisor.
My intention is to finish my proposal at the end of this year. If Paul Jansen accepts it, then I can start working on my PhD thesis at the beginning of next year.
